ستاروں سے آگے جہاں اور بھی ہیں     ابھی عشق کے امتحاں اور بھی ہیں

قناعت نہ کر عالم رنگ وبو پر           چمن اور بھی آشیاں اور بھی ہیں

اسی روز وشب میں الجھ کر نہ رہ جا        کہ تیرے زمان و مکاں اور بھی ہیں

تو شاہیں ہے، پرواز ہے کام تیرا         ترے سامنے آسماں اور بھی ہیں

Other worlds exist beyond the stars—
More tests of love are still to come.

 

Do not be content with the world of color and smell,
Other gardens there are, other nests, too.

 

Do not let mere day and night ensnare you,
Other times and places belong to you.

 

You are an eagle, flight is your vocation:
You have other skies stretching out before you.

Ci sono altri mondi infiniti, oltre, oltre le stele,

ancora prove d’amore molte, molte vi sono!

 

Non te ne star contento di questo mondo quaggiù di colori e profumi:

altri giardini vi sono, oltre, vi sono altri nidi!

 

Un falco superbo tu sei e l’alto volo è tua arte:

altri cieli s’aprono a te dinanzi ampi, ancora!

 

Non restar qui impigliato in questi giorni del mondo, in queste sue notti:

avanti a te s’aprono spazi altri, ed altri tempi, ancora!
