قناعت نہ کر عالم رنگ وبو پر           چمن اور بھی آشیاں اور بھی ہیں

اسی روز وشب میں الجھ کر نہ رہ جا        کہ تیرے زمان و مکاں اور بھی ہیں

تو شاہیں ہے، پرواز ہے کام تیرا         ترے سامنے آسماں اور بھی ہیں

Other worlds exist beyond the stars—
More tests of love are still to come.

 

Do not be content with the world of color and smell,
Other gardens there are, other nests, too.

 

Do not let mere day and night ensnare you,
Other times and places belong to you.

 

You are an eagle, flight is your vocation:
You have other skies stretching out before you.

La delizia che su di me riversavi, il favore che a me dimostravi,
io tutto quanto ricordo, che tu ricordi o no.

Le rinnovate accuse, i lamenti, le storie dolcissime,
l'adombrarsi per ogni nonnulla, che tu ricordi o no.

E l'intendersi a segni se l'uno all'altro di fronte tra estranei eravamo,
e l'aperto parlare d'amore, che tu ricordi o no.

Se uniti per caso, a dimostrar fedeltà lamentavi

Your getting cross on the union night, spurning all my pleas,

وہ جو ہم میں تم میں قرار تھا ،تمہیں یاد ہو کہ نہ یاد ہو

وہی  وعدہ  یعنی  نباہ  کا، تمہیں یاد ہو کہ نہ یاد ہو

 

وہ  جو  لطف مجھ پہ  تھے  پیشتر،  وہ  کرم  کہ تھا  مرے  حال  پر

مجھے سب ہے  یاد ذرا   ذرا،  تمہیں یاد ہو کہ نہ یاد ہو

 

وہ نئے گلے،  وہ   شکایتیں،  وہ  مزے  مزے  کی  حکایتیں

وہ  ہر  اک  بات  پہ  روٹھنا،  تمہیں یاد ہو کہ نہ یاد ہو

 

ہوئے  اتفاق  سے گر  بہم،  تو  وفا  جتانے  کو  دم  بدم
